2003 Holden Commodore VY SS

Released in September 2002 and produced until August 2004 (with a Series II released in August 2003), the VY series was the first major design departure (both inside and out) of the third generation Commodore range released in August 1997.Unusually, the VY also introduced a limited edition SS wagon featuring the same 235 kW (315 hp) V8 (upgraded to 245 kW or 329 hp for Series II), body kit and sports suspension as the SS sedan. However, it was equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels as opposed to the 18-inch wheels on the sedan. 500 such wagons were produced for Series I, and 350 for Series II. The SS was the flagship sports model of the VY range.

This VY SS is not your average VY SS!! Fitted with a six litre Chev engine from a later model VE Commodore and packing some serious punch. The engine features a hydraulic roller cam, 90mm throttle body, MSD ignition system, brand new pistons, rods and the standard ECU has been tuned to match. Transmission has been built by Craigs Automatic Transmissions to suit also with a 4000 converter. Finished in subtle Heron White with original great cloth interior. Has only travelled just over 112,000 kilometers. Featuring the ever so popular FR Simmons wheels in matt black that really set this car off nicely.
