In August 1970, the first ultra-performance Torana, the GTR XU-1, was developed by Holden along with Harry Firth of the Holden Dealer Team for competition in popular Series Production touring car racing within Australia. This car, built in February of 1971 is a super honest example with only very minimal alterations, only being the front seatbelts and the addition of a five-speed gearbox. The original gearbox and associated items are included with the sale of the car. Originally delivered through Kevin Dennis Motors and owned by Kevin himself who is believed to have campaigned the car in motorsport events up until 1973 when it changed hands to the second owner. The eye popping Plumdinger paintwork has been redone at some point of the cars life and still presents nicely. Inside, although showing signs of wear and tear is completely original and could either be redone or left as is by the next owner. Under the hood is the genuine matching number six-cylinder 186 engine with most of its original components which has recently been rebuilt. Still retaining its original issued Victorian number plates as well as documentation. Now available for inspection by appointment at our Kogarah facility.
