From then, it was stripped and sandblasted and the current owner went to “Bowden’s” garage in QLD who allowed him to photo and measure the real Allan Moffat’s 1969 Mustang. The car still maintains its original bumper bars, bright work and glass (except for the replacement windscreen). The engine is a 302 Windsor with alloy Cleveland heads, roller cams, roller rockers, 4 bolt mains and a lightened flywheel. Most performance parts where purchased from Ford America. Backed by a ‘T’ 10 Borg Warner and a Ford 9inch diff with special drive shafts. Has a leaf spring rear with Watts Linkages and tramp rods. RRS front coil over shocks which are adjustable. Has disc brakes and power steering (perfect for cruising). Autronic SMC fuel injection management system. Has Speed Technology throttle bodies. Has a full exhaust system and side exhaust which open by a flick of the toggle switch. Car is also air conditioned. Rides on genuine MiniLite wheels F 8 x 15, R 10 x 15. Car has only been driven approx. 700kms since built. Comes with a collection of trophies won at many car events over the years, a display board with photos of the build and original TRANS.AM covers for the number plates.
