This VH HDT 05 livery Commodore Replica race car is believed to be from an original light weight Group C race car, now running a LS1 5.7lt V8, 6 speed manual gearbox ,minispooled diff with 4.11 ratio and some minor  modifications carried out such as cold air intake, extractors, exhaust, a massive 3 core radiator, and willwood Brakes riding on 17×10 Simmons wheels with semi-slick front tyres & slick tyres on the rear. For sale is this rare Holden VL Commodore SL BT1 Ex South Australian Police vehicle, optioned with the National Police Pack presented in factory Police Blue/ New Blue trim. All matching numbers with Brock spec LV2 4.9 litre V8 engine as they were ordered from factory for all Hi-way patrol vehicles , M40 Trimatic automatic and Salisbury LSD rear. This VL Police Special was sold through United Motors Adelaide and comes with its genuine log books and service history showing South Australian Police as the first owner carried out for police duties in the late 80’s. The VL SS Group A was the second car built for Group A racing purposes by HDT and also numbered 500 in total. First released in 1986 and only offered in Permanent Red paint code, was also the launch of the new Unleaded V8 (4.987 Litre V8 Overhead valve, 2 valves per cylinder. Bore x Stroke (mm): 101.6 x 76.8. Compression ratio: 8.5:1. Max Power: (DIN)137kw @ 4400rpm and 345nm at 3200rpm. Max recommended rpm 5600). Due to the controversial Energy Polariser fiasco between Brock & Holden there was actually two versions of the Group A. Holden could see no technical merit in the Polariser and thus refused to fit it to the cars, so Brock refused to put decals with his signature on cars without it. As a result, Brock’s signature only appears on the higher spec Plus Pack variant, which is roughly 173 of the 500 built.

The Commodore SS was first released in March 1989 and was the top of the range sports model of the VN Commodore range with a 5.0lt V8 under the bonnet and defined with a Body kit including front & rear bumper lip, side skirts, boot lip spoiler , SS decals and striping  and Driving lights on the exterior  with unique SS alloy wheels to distinguish from other performance models and only available in 3 colours   Atlas Grey ,Phoenix Red, Alpine White. The interior fabrics incorporated a grey/red checker design for  the SS range and power pack was optional which included power windows, central locking and electric aerial.
