This special Ford Falcon XC Hardtop was given to Garry Willmington from the Ford Motor Company as a race prepared shell and campaigned by Garry as a privateer entrant in both the 1978 and 1979 Touring Car Championships. This included competing in both the 1978 and 1979 Hardie Ferodo 1000 races. One of Garry’s major sponsors were Austral Hardware, which was owned and operated by Garry’s brother, Ian Willmington in the southwest of Sydney. The car remained in Garry’s possession from 1978 until 2021 when it changed hands for the very first time in a private sale. This car is a must for any Ford or race car collector!
