1996 Holden Commodore VS GTS-R Replica (Sold)

In 1996, a limited edition flagship GTS-R was created which came standard with the 5.7-litre V8, Tremec T5-6 six-speed transmission and “Hydratrak limited slip  differential (LSD) package. Available only in a polarising bright yellow colour (known as “XU-3 Yellah”) with carbon fibre inserts and large rear wing, the GTS-R engine could be blueprinted for more power. In total, 85 GTS-Rs were produced (10 exported to New Zealand). The GTS-R was reintroduced in the VF range also. The VS GTS-R has since become one of the most collectible Australian Muscle Cars made.

To give a more modern day feel, the car is fitted with lowered King Springs and sits perfectly on 20-inch GTS-R aftermarket wheels with 225/35/20 tyres. The interior also replicates the GTS-R also with the rare Devonish seats retrimmed in standout GTS-R material. Running a rebuilt 304 five litre engine, shift kitted T700 auto and rebuilt LSD diff with new bearings and seals. The exhaust, radiator, battery, hoses, clamps, washer bottle, power steering pump, windscreen, bonnet struts and boot struts have all been replaced. Brakes have also been recently overhauled with the addition of GTS-R stickers. It is also running a V8 long range fuel tank.
