1973 Ford Falcon XA GT RPO83 Hardtop.
Sometimes a special car will be offered to the market, but rarely is there a special story that goes with it too. This sensational Falcon XA GT RPO83 Hardtop is one of those cars. Purchased by the current owner forty years ago initially for his wife and only used sparingly until approximately 1988 at which time it was parked and left unused. Fast forward to 2014 and a restoration was started on the car and not finished until recently. During this period and as part of the restoration process an ACCHS report was obtained by the owner and it was discovered the car was originally built with highly desirable “Öption 83”, which any Falcon GT enthusiast would know consisted of parts originally destined for the Falcon XA GTHO Phase 4’s, namely the 780 Holley carburettor, HM Headers and in some cases the winged sump. On top of that incredible discovery was the fact that this example is indeed the very first XA GT Hardtop RPO83 ever built. Along with this incredibly special factory option was front and rear spoilers, protection package, hinged rear louvre and the stunning “W2” trim and the contrasting Red Pepper paintwork. The car is still running its original matching number engine with all the correct RPO83 extras still intact. The odometer reads approximately 47,000 miles. Some may go as far as describing this car as one of the Holy Grail Falcon GTs and we would have to agree. To be featured on the cover as well as a full write up in Unique Cars magazine issue 470 ( issue release 15th September ). Now available for inspection by appointment only at our Kogarah showroom.
